क्लब की स्थापना जून 1956 में श्री ध्रुवराज सिंह और श्री सितारामजी वीर द्वारा पांच एयर राइफलों की उदार दान से की गई थी। उस समय राष्ट्रीय राइफल एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया (NRAI) के उपाध्यक्ष श्री के. जी. प्रभु के मार्गदर्शन में क्लब की स्थापना की गई, जिसका उद्देश्य स्थानीय समुदाय में राइफल प्रशिक्षण और शूटिंग खेलों को बढ़ावा देना था। शुरुआत में क्लब सीमित संसाधनों के साथ काम कर रहा था और पुलिस कमिश्नर के आर्म्स डिपार्टमेंट, बॉम्बे में आठ .22 कैलिबर राइफल्स और 25,000 कारतूसों के लिए औपचारिक आवेदन प्रस्तुत किया गया। 15 जनवरी 1957 को क्लब को लाइसेंस प्राप्त हुआ, जिससे इसकी आधिकारिक गतिविधियाँ शुरू हो गईं। इसके बाद, क्लब NRAI से जुड़ा, जिससे इसकी वैधता और मजबूत हुई।
जैसे-जैसे क्लब की गतिविधियाँ बढ़ी, अतिरिक्त उपकरणों की आवश्यकता महसूस होने लगी। इसके जवाब में, क्लब ने 1970 में आठ और राइफल्स के लिए आवेदन किया, जिसे महाराष्ट्र सरकार के माध्यम से स्वीकृति मिली और खरीदी गई। इस अधिग्रहण ने क्लब की क्षमता को बढ़ाया और इसके सदस्यों को प्रशिक्षण देने और राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेने में मदद की। 1956 में श्री ध्रुवराज सिंह और श्री सिताराम वीर ने NRAI द्वारा आयोजित एक रिफ्रेशर कोर्स में भाग लिया, जिससे श्री वीर ने स्थानीय समुदाय में हिंदी हाई स्कूल, घाटकोपर में राइफल प्रशिक्षण पाठ्यक्रम शुरू करने का विचार किया। श्री वीर ने इस पहल को लेकर श्री के. जी. प्रभु से संपर्क किया, और इसे NRAI और क्लब की प्रबंध समिति से पूर्ण समर्थन मिला।
क्लब के उद्देश्य को समर्थन देने के लिए, श्री सिंह ने एयर राइफलों की खरीद के लिए 501 रुपये दान किए, और तीन महीने के भीतर क्लब की आधिकारिक स्थापना हो गई। अगस्त 1957 के अंत तक, क्लब को पुलिस कमिश्नर से अपना औपचारिक लाइसेंस प्राप्त हो गया, जो एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर था। वर्षों से, क्लब ने शारीरिक फिटनेस, मार्क्समैनशिप सिखाने और शूटिंग खेलों में भागीदारी को बढ़ावा देने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया। इसने अपनी गतिविधियों का विस्तार किया, प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया, और खेल के क्षेत्र में अपनी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका को स्वीकार किया। आज, क्लब में 1400 से अधिक सदस्य हैं और इसके आगे के विकास के लिए योजनाएँ हैं, जिसमें एक नया शूटिंग गैलरी, विशेष प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम और पिस्टल और रिवॉल्वर शूटिंग में विस्तार शामिल है।

प्रशिक्षण मानकों का अनुपालन करते हुए वर्तमान निदेशक श्री अभय प्रताप सिंह के
मार्गदर्शन में विद्यार्थियों को शूटिंग का प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है ।
The club was established in June 1956 by Shri Dhruvraj Singh and Shri Sitaramji Veer with a generous donation of five air rifles. At that time, under the guidance of Shri K. G. Prabhu, the Vice-President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the club was founded with the aim of promoting rifle training and shooting sports in the local community. Initially, the club operated with limited resources, and a formal application was submitted to the Police Commissioner’s Arms Department in Bombay for eight .22 caliber rifles and 25,000 cartridges. On January 15, 1957, the club was granted a license, which allowed its official activities to begin. Subsequently, the club became affiliated with the NRAI, which legitimized and strengthened its operations.
As the club's activities grew, the need for additional equipment arose. In response, the club applied for eight more rifles in 1970, which were approved and purchased through the Maharashtra government. This acquisition expanded the club’s capacity and helped its members receive training and participate in national competitions. In 1956, Shri Dhruvraj Singh and Shri Sitaram Veer attended a refresher course organized by the NRAI, during which Shri Veer conceived the idea of starting a rifle training course at the Hindi High School in Ghatkopar for the local community. Shri Veer contacted Shri K. G. Prabhu regarding this initiative, which received full support from the NRAI and the club's management committee.
To support the club's mission, Shri Singh donated ₹501 for the purchase of air rifles, and within three months, the club was officially established. By the end of August 1957, the club received its formal license from the Police Commissioner, marking an important milestone. Over the years, the club has focused on physical fitness, marksmanship, and increasing participation in shooting sports. It has expanded its activities, organized competitions, and acknowledged its significant role in the sport. Today, the club has over 1,400 members, with plans for further development, including a new shooting gallery, special training programs, and expansion into pistol and revolver shooting.
Currently, 300 students are receiving air rifle shooting training. Under the guidance of the current director, Shri Abhay Pratap Singh, and in accordance with the training standards established by the late Shri Sitaram Veer and Shri Raj Singh, students are being trained in shooting.
